Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This policy explains what personal data LayerReview (“we,” “us”) collects, why we collect it, and who we share it with. It applies to designers who create an account and to clients who use a review link, without needing an account of their own.

2. Data we collect

• Account information: name and email address, collected via our authentication provider, Clerk, when you sign up.
• Your content: the design files, video, comments, and annotations you and your clients upload, stored on Supabase.
• Reviewer names: the name a client enters when they open a review link, shown alongside their feedback.
• Usage data: basic product-usage information (e.g. pages visited, actions taken) used to keep the Service reliable and to understand what’s useful.
• Billing information: handled entirely by Paddle. See below.

3. Who we share data with

We use a small number of processors to run LayerReview. We don’t sell your data to anyone, and we don’t use it for advertising.

• Clerk handles authentication and account management.
• Supabase is our database and file storage, hosting your projects, files, and annotations.
• Vercel provides application hosting.
• Paddle provides payment processing, as Merchant of Record. Paddle handles your card details directly; we never see or store them.
• Anthropic powers our optional AI feedback summaries. When you request a summary, the relevant comment text is sent to Anthropic to generate it.
• Resend sends transactional email, like review invitations and account notifications.

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy commitments, and only to the extent needed to provide their part of the Service.

4. Why we use your data

We use the data above to operate and improve LayerReview: creating and securing accounts, storing and displaying your design files and feedback, sending review invitations and notifications, generating AI summaries when requested, processing payments, and providing customer support.

5. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a project, its files are removed from storage along with the project. If you close your account, we delete your account data within a reasonable period, except where we’re required to retain records (for example, billing records) for legal or accounting purposes.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data at any time. To do so, email support@layerreview.com. Most account and project data can also be edited or deleted directly from your dashboard.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and to secure your session. We don’t use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

8. International transfers

Our service providers host data in the United States and the European Union. Where data is transferred internationally, our providers maintain appropriate safeguards for that transfer.

9. Children

LayerReview isn’t directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we’ll notify you by email or an in-product notice before it takes effect.
